Hemangiomas appear as red growths on the skin. They are benign blood tumors. They occur when endothelial cells of the blood vessels swell or grow abnormally. They usually manifest themselves in the first few weeks of life and resolve themselves by age 10. However, there are treatments available to have them removed.
